Choc Lit sign People’s Novelist Melanie Hudson

Choc Lit have acquired world rights in The Wedding Cake Tree directly from Melanie Hudson, who was a finalist in The People’s Novelist Competition that aired on the Alan Titchmarsh show on ITV1.

This is the first time Choc Lit have signed a self-published author, and her strong track record in sales and publicity was a major draw. The book, which is Melanie’s first, after retiring from a career in the military, climbed to third position in the kindle fiction chart.

Melanie told The Bookseller, “I am delighted to sign with Choc Lit. They’ve just been awarded Publisher of the Year at the Festival of Romance. This seems a good time to join and a reward for my hard work in promoting my debut novel. ”

The Wedding Cake Tree will be published by Choc Lit in all ebook formats worldwide from 1 February, 2014.
