Synopsis

Sometimes, it’s not easy to tell the good guys from the bad …

Freelance journalist, Anna Morris, is struggling to make a name for herself, so she’s delighted to attend a launch event for a hip young artist at her friend Seb’s gallery.

But an exclusive interview isn’t all Anna comes away with. After an encounter with the enigmatic Darrick Farron, she is flung into the shady underground of the art scene – a world of underhand dealings, missing paintings and mysterious deaths …

Seb is intent on convincing Anna that Darrick is up to no good but, try as she might, she can’t seem to keep away from him. And as she becomes further embroiled, Anna begins to wonder – can Seb’s behaviour be explained away as the well-intentioned concern of an old friend, or does he have something to hide?

Book 1 in the series. Book 2 – A Stranger’s House. Book 3 – One Dark Lie.

Available in paperback from most English speaking countries plus online bookstores. eBooks available on all the major platforms.

Clare Chase

Clare Chase

Clare Chase writes women sleuth mysteries set in London and Cambridge. She fell in love with the capital as a student, living in the rather cushy surroundings of Hampstead in what was then a campus college of London University.

After graduating in English Literature, she moved to Cambridge and has lived there ever since. She’s fascinated by the city’s contrasts and contradictions, which feed into her writing. She’s worked in diverse settings – from the 800-year-old University to one of the local prisons – and lived everywhere from the house of a Lord to a slug-infested flat. The terrace she now occupies presents a good happy medium.

As well as writing, Clare loves family time, art and architecture, cooking, and of course, reading other people’s books.

She lives with her husband and teenage children, and currently works at the Royal Society of Chemistry.

This was unexpected! Having read lots of Choc Lit authors, I was expecting a nice romance. In hindsight the cover should have given me a clue! This was a taut thriller about the art world with a very credible heroine and some very dodgy characters!

…The ending was heart-stopping and I’m sure I actually stopped breathing! Can’t recommend this book highly enough – it’s a keeper as well. I’ll read this one again!

You Think You Know Me is an intriguing romance mystery novel that is set in a charming town in England.

….It was clever how Ms. Chase seems to lay all of the chips in place and still manages to keep them completely out of line. I really enjoyed trying to find the truth in You Think You Know Me. See if you can remain on track with this one.

A great thriller that starts gently, builds up and then stampedes to an exciting end.

Clare Chase’s writing style is fun, often humorous and makes for a great light, but engrossing, read.

The story is based in the art world, so gives brief glimpses into that; whilst mostly set in London there are occasional forays out into the Lake District.

I loved it, and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a gripping thriller.

First off, I LOVED THIS BOOK! I read the synopsis and thought it sounded good, but actually the description doesn’t do it enough justice. This book is filled with mystery and intrigue right from the beginning, all the way through to the end.

It begins with Anna attending an art gallery launch belonging to an old university friend. Anna had lost contact with Seb, but their relationship soon gets back on track. At this same event, Anna meets a stranger who we learn is called Darrick. Anna can’t stop thinking about him, despite many people warning her off him.

We know there is a bad guy somewhere within this story, but we don’t know who it is or what exactly they have done or are still going to do…..

Anna has to think who she should trust! The storyline made me wonder what I would do!! Would I follow my heart and my lust and keep seeing the new man? Or would I trust the opinions of an old friend, who I haven’t seen for years, but when we were friends, we were good friends. The title is a great title for this book, its very appropriate.

“You Think You Know Me”…….. do you really???? Its so good.

Throughout the book, I suspected everybody. I even suspected Sally and Alicia at points!! They are Anna’s housemates. Sally loves to talk and share with Anna, and Alicia is Anna’s cousin. She is rather bossy and likes to think she is keeping Anna on the right tracks and giving her all the advice that she thinks Anna should be taking!

Anna is a great lead character. She is a free lance journalist, and has a journalistic mind wanting to explore the information that she sees as possible evidence. She wants to find out the truth before making any decisions. Despite everybody telling her what she should be doing or what she should be thinking, she wants to find out for herself.

The author keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat right til the last chapter. The end of this book is fantastic, I loved the ending and when I got close, I couldn’t put it down.

I love this author after reading this one book, and hope there is lots more coming from Clare Chase’s imagination.
